Our Story

Founded in 1989, Absorbent Products Ltd. was formerly known as Western Industrial Clay Products Ltd. The company is based in Kamloops, BC, Canada.

Over 10-Years ago we developed a unique minesite that contains a naturally occurring blend of diatomaceous earth and montmorillonite clay.  This unique clay blend is the foundation of our pet litters and agricultural product line.

The first two products we developed were Can Dry Industrial Absorbent and WC Cat Cat Litter. We have come a long way since then and now offer various types of absorbents, stall deodorizers, feed additives made from diatomaceous earth, animal bedding, kitty litter and many other cat litter, agricultural, and industrial products.

Today, Absorbent Products Ltd. continues to be dedicated to the research and development of innovative and environmentally friendly products in the industrial, agricultural and retail sectors. • Hi Betty,

Red Lake Diatomaceous Earth is not currently registered for this purpose (it is registered only as an anti-caking agent and flow aid for use in animal feed). However, we have heard of many customers using diatomaceous earth in this way. While we have never heard of any problems, it is recommended that you conduct research using various resources.

Here is a link to an article from our blog. The breeder that shared this information with us used Red Lake Earth to help kill ticks. Diatomaceous Earth and Dog Breeders: Consumer Success Stories

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
